Bundi
is surrounded by the Aravalli hills
on three sides and a massive wall
with four gateways. It is one of the
historically rich cities in Rajastan.
Once, it was a part of Kota ruled
by the Had Chauhans. |

In
1193 when Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated
by Sultan Mohammed Ghauri, some Chauhan
went to get shelter in Mewar and some warriors
mooved towards the Chambal valley and overpowered
the Meena and Bhil tribals to establishing
their own kingdom. Later, two branches of
Hadas formed two separates states of Kota
and Bundi. It is a pace with interesting
monuments, forts, palaces, havelis, temples
and lakes. Till date , the life in Bundi
is untouchednby the modern civilization. |

| Taragarh
or The Star Fort |
This fort was built in 1354 which is one
of the most impressive forts of Rajasthan.
On the thickly wooded hill, this marvelous
white fort is really the jeweel of Bundi. |

Chhattar Mahal is a palace whch consist
Hazari Pol or Gate of the thousand, the
Naubat Khana, the Hathi Pol with its old
water clock and the Diwann-e- Aam. |

gallery of miniature murals and paintings
on the walls with the story of ‘Ragmala’
and ‘Raaslila’. |

Sagar |
Its
an artificial lake of Nawal Sagar with a
temple dedicated to lord Varuna, the Aryan
god of water. The reflection of the entire
city and the palaces can be seen in the
lake which makes it a unique attraction
of Bundi. |

Mahal |
this is a magnificent palace which was mainly
used in summer as it is sorrounded by lush
greenary. It is believed that there was
an underground tunnel which conects Sukh
Mahal to the old palace. |

| Eighty
Four Pillared Cenotaph |
Its an amazing memorial with 84 pillars
in a single cenotaph with a Shiva lingam.
It was erected by Rao Anirudh. |
