Kinnaur
is situated on the Indo Tibetan border.
It is just 200 km from Shimla. It is the place
from whrer the river Satluj flows through the
high mountains. The river rises on the southern
slopes of Kailash Mountain, and passes through
the Kinnaur valley. |
Places of interest
Sarahan:
Sarhan is famous as it is the gateway to Kinnaur and
just 40 km from Rampur. The route to this place passes
via Jeori which is famous for scinic beauty. The prime
attraction of this place is the centuries old Bhima
Kali temple.And the other is Bushehar, a small exotic
village between apple orchards.
Bhaba Valley:
It is a fascinating valley along with the Bhaba river.It
is famous for beautiful landscapes and scenic beauty,and
a popular place for trekkers.
Rampur:
Rampur is located on the banks of the river Satluj.Its
also very ner to Tattapani where one can find the hot
water springs. This place hosts the annual Lavi fair,
which is an important event for the local people for
cultural activities and markets of handicrafts and dry
fruits.
Baspa/Sangla Valley:
This valley has been named after a beautiful &
populous village Sangla. Sangla is situated on the bank
of Baspa river which is 17 kms from Karcham.This is
the most charming valley in the entire Kinnaur District
as it gives the natural scenery all around.
