Kullu was
previously known as Kulanthpitha, which means
the end of the habitat world. It is also called
"The Silver Valley" as it is siuated
in the banks of the shining river Beas.

Places of interest
Raghunathji Temple :
In the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh of Kullu brought
a statue of lord Raghunathji from Ayodhya.He also built
this temple which is till being maintained careflly.
The Vaishno Devi Temple :
It is 4-km away from Kullu to Manali.The temple is
basically a a small cave with an image of goddess Vaishno
or Durga.
Akhara Bazar:
It is the main bazar or market place where one can
find all type of traditional handicrafts, clothes, gift
items.
Naggar:
Naggar was the capital of Kullu For 1400 years .A 16th
century old stone and wood castle is still there and
a gallery houses offers a collection of paintings of
Nicholas Roerich
Bajaura Temple:
On the banks of the river Beas, this temple is situated
with a massive pyramidal structure.Inhe outside the
images of Durga, Vishnu and Ganesh is there and in inside
there is a Shiva temple with large yoni-lingam.
Parvati Valley/Manikaran:
This place is also famous for its natural beauty. Manikaran
is 45 km away which offers a trekking route to Pulga
and Pin Parvati pass.The place is basically famous for
for the hot springs. Thousands of people take holy dip
in this hot waters. This place is very famous for both
Hindus and Sikhs as there are hindu temple and gurdwara.
