Places of interest
Triloknath Shiva Temple:
The temple is built in Nagari style with a tiled roof.
The temple of Lord Shiva is depicted as the lord of
the three worlds with the five faces or "Panchvakhra"
expressing his five aspects.
Bhutnath Temple:
This temple is as old as the town itself, dating back
to the 1520's.Inside the temple there is Nandi or god
Shiva's pet bull facing the ornamental double arch building.
The festival of Shivratri is a major event in this place
and Bhootnath Temple is its focal piont.
Syamakali Temple:
Also known as the Tarna Devi Temple, this temple is
situated on the Tarna Hill, which rises above the town.
Raja Syama Sen built the temple in the 17th century
after a particularly trying time when the goddess gave
him success.
Ardhanarishvara Temple:
This 7th century old temple is famous for its architecture.The
figure of the deity, Lord Shiva is here with the composition
of both male and female.
