Bharatpur
Bharatpur
is popular for the bird sanctuary and Keoladeo Ghana
National Park. It is one of the best in Asia to find
out the migratory birds. In winter, the rare Siberian
crane comes here in Bharatpur for warmer climate.

PLACES OF INTEREST
Lohagarh Fort
This is a massive iron structure
built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Suraj Mal, the
founder of Bharatpur. It was sustained even after a number
of British attacks. The fort has three palaces within the
premises, Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas and Kothi Khas.
Government Museum
This museum has a rich collection
of Rajput artifacts, sculptures and ancient inscriptions.
The Palace
This royal palace is the
fusion of the Mughal and Rajpat architectural styles with
magnificent apartments, intreriors, designed floor and patterns.
One can see the ancient and royal things displayed in the
central part of the palace.
Keoladeo National Park
Once it was the royal hunting
preserve for the princes of Bharatpur.It is one of the greatest
bird sanctuaries in the world with over 400 species of water
and migratory birds. Every year in july and august, migratory
birds from Afghanistan, central Asia, Tibet and Siberian
cranes come here and spend the winter in warmer climate.
Excluding birds one can find spoonbills , storks, egress,
herons, pelicans, ebis and grey herons all over the park.
