Jodhpur
Once,
Jodhpur was the capital of the Marwar, founded in
1459 by Rao Jodha,chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs.This
imperial city echoes with tales of antiquity in the
emptiness of the Thar desert.

in 16th century and now the second largest city of Rajasthan.
The graceful palaces, forts, temples, handicraft, folk dances,

PLACES OF INTEREST
Mehrangarh Fort
This fort is one of the most
impressive and remarkable structures of Rajput fort culture.It
has four gates and some magnificent palaces with marvelously
carved panels. The Moti Mahal, The Phool Mahal, The Sheesh
Mahal, The Sileh Khana and the Daulat Khana are the which
attract people year after year. There one can find the superb
collection of palanquins, elephant hawdahs, miniature paintings,
musical instruments, costumes and furniture.
Jaswant Thada
This royal cenotaphs in white
marble was built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh
II. Here one can view the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers

Bhawan Palace This
is a 20th century made palace built under the famine
relief project and took 16 years to be completed.This
is still the residence of the former rulers. It offers
a museus where one can find the rare artifacts of
Rajput rulers.

Market
These are the colourful markets
with tiny shops and narrow lanes. Here one can fine a wide
