Shekhawati
The Shekhawati region is the most wonderfull
region in Rajasthan. It is famous for art and architechture
which was flourished between 18th and 20th century. |
‘Shekhawati’
meanings the land of Shekhs clan derives from Rao Shekha
a section of the Kachhwaha family of Jaipur. Earlier it
was a part of the Jaipur state. The place is famous as one
can find so many havelis there which still carries the flavour
of Rajasthani culture.
Havelis
Shekhawati’s magnificent
havelis or mansions was built by rich merchants of the region
which displays an unique architectural style. It ensure
safety and privacy of the women and protection from the
heat in harsh summers.

The
havelis are painted in the blue, maroon,yellows,green
and indigo shades with beautiful wall paintings which
depicts the local legends, animals, portraits, hunting
and glimpse of everday life. |
It was founded in the late
17th century which was the largest "thikana" under
Jaipur. The fort and temples of Gopinath, Raghunath and
Madan Mohan are worth visiting. The jubilee Hall, Madho
Niwas Kothi,B iwani Havelli, Sodhani Haveli, the Jain temple
and a large market are other places to be enjoyed.
